This rare Trifari necklace dates to the 1950s. It is a collar which features a unique wavy bottom edge design where the metal is curved up and over the bottom front giving the pave' set rhinestones the look of being "tucked" in. This piece has a unique art nouveau / organic design which I have never seen in Trifari jewelry before. The metal has a smooth gold-plated finish on the front, while the back has a finely textured brushed gold finish. Tiny, pave' set clear clear rhinestones adorn the front focal area. There are several sizes of rhinestones adding more interest to this necklace as well. The hinged construction makes for easy wearing and is signed Trifari, with the Crown over the T and copyright symbol next to it dating it to the 1950's. This rare vintage piece is a desirable piece for the collector of vintage Trifari as well as mid century jewelry an elegant statement piece. The necklace is in very good vintage condition. Light fading to the gold finish is seen on the back mainly at the hinges. Nothing serious at all.
All stones are present with a bit of darkening/loss of brilliance to a few. Again, with so many that are sparkling this is not noticeable when wearing it.
