Beautiful and well documented vintage Coro Duette cockatoo pin dating to the 1940's era. This is another wonderful example of the master craftsmanship and design of Gene Verrecchio. Expertly constructed in a rhodium plated base metal with pave set rhinestones all over the head and bodies of the birds which are beautifully enameled in shades of blue. They are perched on a branch which features leaves and flowers, all enameled as well. The stones depicting the eyes are light pink which accent the pink enamel colors seen in the flowers.

Please note that this is the Calopsitta duette (featured in Brunialti's "American Costume Jewelry: Art & Industry, 1935-1950" on page 98) which incorporates many pave set rhinestones all over each bird. You will see others with enamel only or with a lesser amount of stones on the body of the cockatoos.

This gorgeous piece is in excellent vintage condition. A tiny bit of enamel loss is noted. This is very minimal and hardly noticeable. The stones are sparkly with a few showing a tiny bit of fading. Again, very minimal and does not affect the beauty of the piece in any way. Stamped Coro Duette in script along with the Pat. No. 1798867. Measuring 3~5/8" long x 2 across" at it's widest point, this will be a wonderful addition to the high end, and or, rare, vintage jewelry collection.
