Gorgeous antique Victorian Amethyst & gold brooch c/1870's-80's
Though not large it is a little beauty that packs a visual punch due to the beautiful purple gemstones. These are genuine, faceted, amethyst gemstones which are high quality stones with a deep, rich, purple color and extremely clear. Looking through a loupe one can see a very faint inclusion in one or two of the larger stones confirming they are indeed amethysts. The metal is 9kt gold.
Slender C clasp dates it to the 1870's-1880's era
Measures 1.5" across x approx. 3/4" long
Large stones measure approx. 9 x 6 mm
