EARLY UNSIGNED MIRIAM HASKELL CZECH INSPIRED FESTOON NECKLACE

1930's

MIRIAM HASKELL'S EARLY DESIGNS WERE INFLUENCED BY THE BEAUTIFUL CZECH JEWELRY OF THAT PERIOD. MANY OF THE STONES USED IN EARLY HASKELL JEWELRY WERE MADE IN CZECHOSLOVAKIA

REFERENCE - EARLY HASKELL CLASPS - "MIRIAM HASKELL JEWELRY" PG 59

GORGEOUS FESTOON NECKLACE FEATURES TURQUOISE PEKING GLASS CABOCHONS WHICH HAVE AN IMPRESSED FLOWER DESIGN IN EACH ONE. THE CENTER THREE ARE QUITE LARGE MEASURING 40mm ACROSS X 30mm LONG. TWO SMALLER ROUND CABOCHONS  FINISH THE MAIN DESIGN AREA.

MADE TO LOOK LIKE REAL TURQUOISE THESE CABOCHONS SHOW GOLD FLECKS, VEINING LIKE YOU SEE IN GENUINE TURQUOISE STONES, AND VARYING SHADES OF TURQUOISE BLUE FROM LIGHT TO DARK  TO AREAS OF WHITE. THESE ARE STUNNING GLASS STONES, HAVEN'T SEEN ANY QUITE LIKE THESE IN MY YEARS OF SELLING

EACH CABOCHON IS PRONG SET, EACH SETTING FEATURES SEVEN TURQUOISE GLASS BEADS WHICH DROP DOWN FROM THE BOTTOM OF THEM. THE METAL WHERE THE CABS ARE IS A SILVER PLATED HARD METAL WHICH HAS A DARKENED ANTIQUE LOOK NOW DUE TO THE PATINA ON IT. THE CHAINS ARE BEAUTIFUL, SUBSTANTIAL YET ELEGANT; STRONG ENOUGH TO HOLD THE LARGE GLASS CBS SECURELY. MADE OF SILVER PLATED BRASS METAL EACH LINK IS EMBOSSED. THE CLASP IS A FANCY SLIDE IN BOX STYLE, THE TYPE OF WHICH HASKELL USED IN HER EARLY PIECES. IT IS ROUND WITT BEAUTIFULLY DETAILED OPEN WORK METALWORK AND EMBOSSING AS WELL. MOST OF THE SILVER FINISH HAS WORN OFF NOW SHOWING A GORGEOUS PATINA ON THE BRASS METAL IT IS MADE OF

MEASURES 15~1/4" LONG

CAN EASILY BE LENGTHENED BY ADDING CHAIN TO THE ENDS, CONDITION SPECIFICS ARE DETAILED IN THE DESCRIPTION

Please keep in mind though we may rate vintage jewelry as in very good to excellent vintage condition, these pieces are pre-owned and may show very gentle wear. This is only pertaining to normal wear as in very slight loss of brilliance in stones, faint, barely visible scratches on metal, and patina on certain metals such as brass and silver / silver plated metal
