REDESIGNED VICTORIAN STERLING SILVER LADIES EMBOSSED PENDANT WATCH with GEMSTONES
One of my "save a beautiful piece" designs this lavalier pendant necklace features a lovely Victorian ladies pocket watch. The watch of course, is not working, but when designed to wear as a necklace it is a wonderful piece of history that can now be kept and worn for its' beauty and artistic value.
The watch itself is sterling silver and is elegantly embossed with a fruit cornucopia on the back and sun ray design around the front. I wired a silver plated bale to the top of it and then added a sterling silver drop I've had for a long time. It features an ocean blue gemstone cabochon set in it. A freshwater baroque pearl tops it off, altogether making a unique lavalier necklace.
Though the chain is not sterling silver it is used because the design of it works so good with the whole piece.
The condition issues noted with the watch are as follows:
Has a small dent in the case at the bottom and is a bit pressed in at the back
. Some scratches are noted which are inside the inner edge of the case where people tried to open it. This is not seen unless opened so it does not affect the beauty of the piece.
One hand has come loose and has settled at the bottom. Really quite interesting, lol~
Markings, measurements, and other history
It is stamped .935 with hallmarks and makers company name inside the case.
Watch alone measures 1~1/4" round in diameter. Total design drops down 4" long from the chain
The chain measures 24" long and has my Ellen Original sterling silver hang tag
