Huge 3 1/4" Victorian Art Nouveau sash pin features a large, faceted, purple, glass stone, accented with filigree butterflies, slinky snakes, and flying swallows or blue birds. Ruby glass stones glint in the eyes of the snakes and birds while faceted purple glass cabochons sparkle in the butterflies.Very 3 dimensional with incredible attention to detail! This piece is made in a very hard, bronze looking metal which may be brass. Showing a beautiful patina it's wicked beautiful!
The wide C catch dates it to the late 1800's to early 1900's
Fabulous statement piece it is sure to be a crown jewel in any Victorian, turn of the century, Art Nouveau, or Edwardian jewelry collection
Measures 3~1/4" across x 2" long
The main stone is especially unique. beautifully faceted t is quite high with no flat table surface on it. Very difficult to show in the photos, please ask if you want to see close up pics of it and I will do my best to get more detailed photos of it
Very good - excellent antique condition with only a few faint scratches on the large center stone. Nothing serious, does not detract from its beauty and only noticeable when looking very closely.
