Metal scrolls are attached securely to the bakelite at the top of each earring, the metal scrolls at the bottom area of each earring are not glued down so the metal has slight movement there. This does not affect the security of it in any way
Though they weigh 1.81 oz. the way they are designed make them comfortable to wear. At least for me...
