Product Description

Fabulous Victorian Brooch 1880's - 1890's Era

Features faceted clear stones which at  first I beieved to be white sapphires or white topaz gemstones. So I took the piece to my jeweler who stated they were not gemstones. But what brilliance! There are 21 of these beauties which are placed in "crown" design prong settings.   12 are in a circle design in the center of the brooch with 3 slightly larger ones in the middle of this circle. The other 6 are set on each side of the circular center area, 3 on each side. This design resembles a "belt buckle" to me. It has the older, more narrow, C clasp as the closure. The metal is gold colored, most likely a combination of brass with other, or another unknown metal. When scratched on an acid testing stone the metal below the gold color is white/silver colored.

This brooch is in excellent antique condition, the stones are beautiful with no visible issues, they are extremely clear and brilliant.

Measures 2~3/8" across. The center circle measures 28.6 mm round (approx. 1~1/8") in diameter. It is 1" round in diameter at the back plate. The stone settings make it larger at the front.

This will be a stunning addition to any Victorian, antique jewelry, collection. Please view all photo for details but please keep in mind the photos do not come close to showing how brilliant and beautiful these stones are.
