Product Description
RARE and EXQUISITE Sterling Silver Vermeil (plated sterling) Pegasus Corocraft brooch. Designed by Adolph Katz this is a heavy, fabulous brooch which features Art Nouveau as well as Art Deco design elements. Especially stunning is the huge, emerald cut, emerald green, focal stone! Behind this huge stone are "stems" with tiny clear rhinestones set along the furled tops of these stems as well as in the total area of some of the other "stems". Marked sterling Coro-craft in an oblong box shaped cartouche with the pegasus on the right side.
Very large brooch measures 4" from top to bottom x 2~1/8" across at the widest point.
Stone measures 1.13" x .88" or 28.4mm x 22.5mm
Weighs 48 grams
Very good vintage condition with these issues noted: The gold plating is pretty much worn off on the front of the pin but intact on the back. All rinestones are present, still beautiful, though a few have darkened. Nothing serious and does not affect the beauty of this piece (in my opinion) Green stone is gorgeous with just some very faint surface scratches which are normal for the age, size, and depth of the stone. You must look very closely to see them as all. Not noticeable in normal view. The pin back functions properly but due to the length of the pin it has bent slightly by having to go over the green stone. It does clasp /lock securely.
The brooch is so large it was difficult to capture the complete design of it with my camera. espesially the way the stems curve up and out in the striking, dimensional, way from the stone. But please view all photos for best details
