Product Description

Another rare and wonderful unsigned Miriam Haskell necklace which I purchased from my collector (and friend) of unsigned Haskell pieces. This one is a double fringe design featuring butterscotch bakelite beads which are shaped like chunks of thick "red vine" candy. Each bead has the distinctive gold plated floral shaped bead caps seen in Haskell jewelry. Dropping down from each bakelite bead is a small seashell and all of these are dangling from a celluloid chain. The simple spring ring clasp is another distinct feature seen in deco era Haskell jewelry. The beads tested positive as bakelite using simichrome. The necklace is in very good to excellent vintage condition. The only thing to point out is that some of the brass jump rings could use a gentle polishing which I will do if requested. The rest of the necklace could also use a gentle cleaning as well which I will also do upon request. The bakelite beads measure just under 3/4" long each and with the shells they drop down approx. 2" long (on average). The necklace measures 14" long which is the customary length at the time, however, it can easily be lengthened using vintage chain. This necklace will be desirable addition to the unsigned as well as signed Miriam Haskell collection, you will love it to be sure~
