GREAT TO WEAR AT THAT BEACH WEDDING, PARTY, GALA, FOR A MOST UNIQUE LOOK
Spectacular early Miriam Haskell Brooch - 1930's, unsigned era
Features small, iridescent, turbo seashells and turquoise glass beads which have been hand wired onto a large, U shaped, celluloid back.
All are wired tightly together making a striking and very impressive cluster of shells and beads.
Dangling from the bottom of this cluster are 5 big seashells which have turquoise blue beads wired into the open, inside area of the top part of each shell
MIRIAM HASKELL CONSTRUCTION ELEMENTS AND COMPONENTS:
Hand wired components are tightly wired onto a pierced, celluloid back
Natural seashells together with glass beads
Rare Haskell organic, nature motif
MEASUREMENTS:
3~1/2" across at the top with the longest shell dropping down 2~1/2" from the bottom of the celluloid back
The total length measures just a bit over 4" long
Excellent vintage condition with all seashells & beads present and undamaged.
I was told the pin back has been replaced but it has been done professionally and does not detract from the brooch as a whole in any way. The wiring is nice and tight, and there is a beautiful patina on the metal now.
This is an important collectors piece which is sure to be a crown jewel in any vintage jewelry collection, but especially the Miriam Haskell one. And of course, a gorgeous brooch to wear anytime
