I bought quite a few very large Keshi pearls several years ago to make into pendant necklaces. I especially think this one is fabulous as it is in the shape of a buffalo. Hence, I call it my "White Buffalo". The outer layer of pearl itself may have been enhanced a bit, don't know for sure, but these were not perfect when purchased. However they are all beautiful with a lovely soft, iridescence. This pearl has a blemish on the top center of it where the nacre has peeled there but it is still very nicely iridescent there. The other side has a larger spot which actually is at the top front part of the "head" where it fits right in as part of the design! Also still iridescent there as well. That's why I believe it may have a light coating on it as both areas looks nice with no actual dulling.
I added a beautiful, sterling silver, bale which is substantial, yet elegant, and accents the size of the pearl perfectly.
Did I say huge? Indeed it is, measuring 40mm x 46mm
