Original Archived Listing:
Please look at all photos as I took many to show the exquisite workmanship of this purse. Dating to the Edwardian to the 1920's era this is a gorgeous antique evening bag which features very fine tambour embroidery. The skills seen here are unsurpassed with a delicate floral and leaf design on one side of the purse. Embroidered on black silk the workmanship is superb with many shades of silk used to bring depth and life to the flowers and leaves. The clasp is beautifully designed as well featuring embossed antique silver metal accented with glass jewels in green red and pearl. The frame is gold plated metal and it has a chain link handle. Inside the purse has one pocket and a separate mini purse which is attached with a fine metal chain. The fabric inside is excellent, the pocket is edged in gold, very elegant. It is marked Trinity in a 3 leaf clover inside the top part of the pocket. Overall I would say it is in very good vintage condition. The embroidery is excellent and the areas where the material has a bit of wear is pictured in the photos I took. These are highly magnified so please know this is not near as noticeable when you view it in hand. A charming look into the past this lovely bag measures 4~1/2" across at the top graduating up to 8" across at the bottom. It measures approx. 7" long from top to bottom. The chain handle measures approx. 5" from the center top to the top of the purse.
