This is a rare vintage Miriam Haskell seashell pin featuring dyed green shells that are hand wired onto a pierced brass backing. These shells are wired tightly and closely together. So close that they are clustered together with some shells being on top of others giving it that dimension you see. This also gives the pin this unusual shape which is very unusual as well as 3 dimensional...almost bizarre...but in a good way, especially if you like Avant Garde pieces in any form. The small brass beads wired to the top of each shell add to the uniqueness of the brooch as well. This will be a show stopper when stepping out wearing it. The organic-shaped design exudes a seashore, artsy, beachy, theme making it a highly unique accessory. It is a one-of-a-kind piece by Haskell that would make a striking statement, especially for those who collect her fabulous nature period jewelry from the Art Deco era.
Very Cool!
Please be sure to view all photos which show the C clasp pin closure and the photo that shows a glimpse of the pierced back which is covered over by a brass plate for a clean finish.
