Information from the internet - "The Famous-Barr Co. (originally Famous and Barr Co.) was a division of Macy's Inc. (formerly Federated Department Stores). Headquartered in StLouis Missouri .The company can be traced back to Motte's, a store founded in 1874 by Jesse W. Motte, who sold boots and shoes at 714 Franklin Street. In 1876", There's a lot of history to read which I don't have the room to add but if one is interested it's available online
Add a touch of vintage beauty to your look, especially a bridal or wedding ensemble, with this stunning pastel pink and clear beaded necklace. Delicately beautiful in design and construction, yet a striking piece when on, this torsade necklace has an ethereal loveliness that makes one think of fairies or princesses in a bygone era. Besides the 1000's of tiny glass beads, it features gold plated petal filigree bead caps reminiscent of the Russian gold plated ones seen in the older Miriam Haskell jewelry.  All strands end at these caps which connect everything to an ornate, slide-in box clasp that is intricately hand beaded. Many many, strands of tiny glass beads in clear and pale pink make this a stunning necklace.  Has surprisingly substantial weight to it and lays beautifully on the neckline. I've had similar ones in the past that were made in France or Italy though this one in unmarked other that the store tag. This original piece dates to from the 1940s or 1950s is a must-have for the  jewelry collector who loves vintage beads and high quality workmanship. Adding more interest to the piece is the fact it has the original store tag still attached and the original tiny paper price tag still on the back of the clasp. It was a pretty expensive item back in that period...
In excellent vintage condition indicative of age... and perfect to wear any time or for any occasion
