Beautiful, Rare color Ocean / Steel Blue, Venetian Wedding Cake Beads Necklace & Earrings Set
1930's Era
Hard to find in this unique blue color these wedding cake beads feature shimmering copper aventurine with pink enamel roses. Each bead is accented with other enameling as in tiny dots and swirls as well. The spacer beads are also unique in that they are diamond shaped, 3 dimensional cubed shapes. They have a bright shiny gold finish which looks like they have fired on gold on them instead of a gold plated metal finish. ( I used to do that myself when I painted porcelain and china).
The earrings are not an exact match. They sure look like they are but upon looking at them closely you see a slight difference. The blue color glass is an exact match however. No one would notice this while you are wearing them and many people may not even when you aren't. The clip back mechanisms are slightly different also, one is stamped Italy, the other is stamped made in Italy.

The stringing is nice with very little play in between the beads so I would say you don't need to have it restrung. But I would recommend it just because of the age of the material, especially if you plan to wear it regularly. All beads are in lovely vintage condition, no damage at all. The petal shaped brass bead caps are delicate and fine with no issues. They have a lovely patina now but could use a gentle polish to brighten them up a bit. Because that are so small and delicate this may be difficult, but I am just making the suggestion. A darker patina is noted on the screw barrel clasp and on the clip back mechanisms. As the metal is all brass just a light polish will brighten them up.
Necklace measures 19" long, earrings measure approx. 6/8" round.
