Beautiful vintage crown Trifari poodle pin. This pooch has such a regal look, as if he (maybe she but I'll refer to him as he) knows how wonderful he is, lol! Features a large faux pearl on his body and smaller pearls on his legs and tail. His head and feet are accented with sparkling pave' set rhinestones, all in a rose gold plated finish which is also rhodium plated. The design is beautifully constructed with amazing attention to detail in body and form. Also features a built in pin back. High quality all the way! The piece is stamped on the back - "Pat Pending" along with Trifari with the crown over the T. Not many are offered for sale, I couldn't find any online right now so a hard to find brooch for sure. Information can be found on it in the book "AMERICAN COSTUME JEWELERY VOL. 2" BY THE BRUNIALTI'S, PAGE 152. Another version of this pin was made with moghul style glass and is titled MOGHUL POODLE. According to my research this piece received the patent #158,124 which dates it to 1950.
Condition is excellent vintage indicative of its' age. All stones are present and sparkly, pearls have a gorgeous luster and the large pearl is especially nice with no visible damage or issues. If looking with a loupe you will see very faint scratches but these are so minor they are only mentioned for description accuracy details. Please view all photos which are enlarged.
