These are - 1940's or earlier
Stunning wedding cake beads seen in this necklace feature heavily decorated, ornate, glass beads. Beautiful turquoise blue background color with swirls of gold aventurine, enamel pink roses and upraised dots of white, blue and pale pink enamel. Their shape is cuboid, (rectangular cube) which is rare indeed. Accented with rose quartz gemstone beads and round, gold plated, metal beads. All hand knotted.
I purchased this necklace at an Estate sale years ago where I also bought some fabulous, old, Chinese, beaded necklaces. Those were intricately beaded long necklaces which had rose quartz and aventurine gemstones beads. I have just listed one I had kept for my collection but now am starting to downsize...a bit, lol! I am thinking this piece may be from China as well since it has a lovely, filigree, slide in box style clasp. Not that it needs one, long enough to jut pop over your head! Not sure but I've seen these clasps on vintage, oriental, jewelry. Regardless, this is an amazing necklace which one can wear but will also make a wonderful addition to any vintage wedding cake / gemstone bead collection.
