Classic Monet necklace in a lovely multi strand chain design. Circa 1970s.
Magnificent Monet gold plated necklace features 12 strands of elegantly linked slender chains. Each link is only 1/2" long in size so there are hundreds of these links that are connected by jump rings making this a spectacular piece. Graduated lengths drape along the neckline ending at substantial gold bar connectors. They need to be substantial as the entire necklace is quite heavy with all of these links and jump rings. The necklace has extension chains at each end as well. It h the distinct Monet hook clasp where it's stamped on the inside. A gorgeous necklace that resembles fine gold in both weight and look. Fabulous for the upcoming holiday season as well as Winter months.
Measurements - The shortest length measures 14.5" to the bar connectors (not including the extension), making it 17~3/4" total adjustable length at the longest point.

The necklace is in very good condition - excellent vintage condition with a beautiful gold finish. There are no issues to note.
Monet was founded in 1929 by Michael and Jay Chernow in Providence, Rhode Island, and became one of the leading names in costume jewelry design during the 1940's. By the 1980's Monet was producing jewelry for Yves Saint Laurent. It is still a successful company today.
