ART DECO FACETED ROCK QUARTZ BEADS NECKLACE
1930's-40's era
The cut of each stone is quite unique, they have a somewhat "squared" shape to them even though they are round beads. The quality and cut of the beads seen in this necklace is wonderful, the quartz stones are extremely clear and reflective, really beautiful.
This piece is an authentic deco era necklace which is in very good vintage condition. Noted are tiny, very tiny "flea bites" which may only be seen under magnification, and only on the faceted edges on some of the stones. This is very minimal and not unexpected in a piece from this period. Quite a few necklaces of that period were strung with clear quartz beads & many today go unchecked and are sold as glass or crystal
The beads are all hand knotted and strung on silk. They graduate in size with the largest beads in the center measuring 10mm round. It has an elegant sterling silver filigree clasp and is beautifully strung with no stretching of the silk at the ends.
There are 39 quartz beads.
Measures 15" long.
