Beautiful, rare, 1920's unsigned Miriam Haskell fringe necklace. This one features an Egyptian design with fabulous scarab opalescent glass beads which have been hand wired in clusters that drop from a brass chain. The color of the scarab beads is striking, reddish brown which can be described as burnt sienna or red ochre. When you see them in the light you see they are softly iridescent, very difficult to photo but the last picture shows it ever so slightly. These beads are cabochons, they have a flat back which allows the necklace to lie beautifully along the neck line. Small round brass beads drop dangle from the scarab beads and turquoise glass beads are added for a lovely contrast. These compliment the scarab beads beautifully. The opalescent beads also have aqua paint in the detailed lines of the design which define the scarab in each bead as well as picking up the color of the blue beads. The neck chain has simple spring clasp closure, a component seen in the old unsigned Haskell pieces. The necklace is in very good to excellent vintage condition. All beads are intact and the brass metal now has the desirable patina on it. Measuring 16~1/4" long this is gorgeous on and will be a crown jewel in any vintage jewelry collection but especially the Miriam Haskell one. Nice!
