Designed and patented by Murray Slater for Urie Mandle in 1947. Photographed on page 237 in the Brunialti book " American Costume Jewelry Arts and Industry 1935 - 1950 " Vol. 1.

Gold plating over sterling silver metal (vermeil)
Stamped sterling and pat pend in an oval cartouche on the back
This design, along with many other sword sabre pins, was inspired by the 1940's movie "Thief of Baghdad".

This particular one is a Murray Slater for Urie Mandle piece. However, there is another interesting piece of info as follows:
In 1996, Trifari re-issued some of their older pieces adding a date to the signature. One such sword recently sold on the internet and there are several more. They are much smaller with less detail but the design is the same
So, this piece features a removable sword attached to the scabbard with a double chain. The scabbard features black enameling, a large, faceted, emerald glass stone, in the sword, glass ruby cabochons, glass turquoise (cab), glass emerald (cab) and rhinestones.
Brilliant rhinestones are set throughout the piece including on the outer edge of the saber blade itself. Beautiful workmanship!

Weighs 44.8 grams (1.58 oz)
In very good vintage condition, only issue is that a lot of the the gold plating has faded but you can see it is there
