Louis Rousselet (1892-1980) - Born in Paris and apprenticed at the young age of eight to M. Rousseau to master the technique of lamp-work beads.

In 1922, in Menilmontant, Louis began manufacturing glass and Galalith beads as well as imitation pearls (glass beads coated on the outside with essence d’Orient, a fish scale compound). Very soon his firm was a major source of handmade beads worldwide, employing nearly 800 workers over the years.

Beautiful Louis Rousselet Necklace 1930's Era

Gripoix, poured, lampwork, and a large spun glass bead make this stunning necklace. Also added are elongated faceted beads making a unusual, beautiful, and very dimensional necklace. A spectacular spun glass center bead is the focal point of this piece which is furthur accented by green glass beads. This will make a wonderful addition to your Louis Rousselet collection as well as any vintage glass beads jewelry collection.

Unsigned  but distinct LR glass beads, construction, and design

Silver plated screw clasp

Spun glass bead measures 20 mm round (actually almost 21 mm)

Measures 23~1/2" long

Weighs 2.275 oz   ( 64.5 grams)

Beautiful vintage condition, all beads look to be present with no damage. Stringing is nice a tight to the ends. The spun glass bead is especially cool but very difficult to photograph. I took many photos so please view them all for best description.

Always very carefully packed for safe delivery!
