Incredible, rare, early Miriam Haskell fringe necklace, circa 1920's.
From a collection of unsigned Haskell pieces the original owner decided to sell this to me, very nice as this one is especially beautiful. The fringe features 3 strands of incredible and very rare mercury glass beads which are a gorgeous and striking electric blue color. They drop down from brass chains making a beautiful waterfall fringe which looks fabulous on.
The construction is very distinct Haskell, the beads are all hand wired onto the chains and each bead has a tiny glass bead at the bottom and top of it. The links in the smaller chains where the beads drop from are embossed and are connected to a larger linked brass neck chain which ends with a simple spring ring clasp. The brass metal shows a beautiful warm patina now, an important feature in these pieces.
Measuring 15~1/4" long the the necklace is very good to excellent vintage condition with all but one of the mercury glass beads intact which I didn't see until I was enlarging the photos. Not at all noticeable and can be easily removed if desired before shipping. All in all a very desirable necklace for the rare unsigned Miriam Haskell jewelry collection
