Product Description
Note: This necklace is comprised of Howlite, a white gemstone with beautiful veining in it which when color treated turquoise blue looks exactly like genuine turquoise. Because it has been used as a turquoise substitute for so long, Howlite is now becoming scarce itself. If this necklace was made with genuine turquoise it would cost much, much, more.
One of my favorite necklaces, this piece was designed months ago, but because I wear it a lot and get attention while wearing it I have kept in in my collection until now. Didn't want to let it go, lol~This necklace features a huge turquoise slab pendant with a 1920's era rhinestone dress clip I applied to the top of it. The clip mechanism was loose so I removed it and now it functions much better as a focal point in this piece. I strung nugget shaped turquoise beads with tiny, faceted, clear, crystal, beads as spacers in between the larger beads. Always like a bit of sparkle in my large gemstone jewelry necklaces! I added a vintage silver plated chain for the extender so the length is versatile. This necklace is in excellent condition. The pave rhinestones in the vintage finding are all present, a few have darkened slightly. Nothing serious and hardly noticeable, but noted. It will always be a one of a kind piece with the art deco focal piece on the turquoise. I also designed earrings that will go with this nicely. Don't have them listed yet but will shortly. Necklace measures 15" long with a 4" extender making it 19" total adjustable length. The slab pendant measures 3~5/8" long x 2~1/4" across at the widest point. Weighs 4.6 oz and has my Ellen Original sterling silver cartouche on the back.
