Beautiful with unique beads this necklace dates to the 1920's-30's era. Made by the glass artisans from the town of Gablonz which is in the northern fringe of Bohemia this region was renowned for incredible glass beads. Extensive info about this area and the art glass created there is found in the book "Baubles Buttons and Beads" by Sibylle Jargstorf. This necklace features deeply carved GALALITH beads along with carved galalith bell shaped flower beads which almost act as bead caps to the clear glass beads seen in this necklace. Gorgeous clear molded glass beads in other flower shapes and sizes make up the remainder of the necklace. The beads are strung on silk cord and the necklace has a barrel clasp closure. Two small ribbed amber glass beads accent the very end of the necklace at the clasp area.. Please see photos for best description. In excellent vintage condition this piece measures 18~1/4" long.
