Antique D F Briggs, Co. Ladies Compact
This antique Guilloche enamel compact wristlet is a stunning piece from the 1920s. It features intricate enamel work which features a lakeside scene in the center of intricate patterns of enamel colors in white, yellow, and very pale blue surrounding it. The very pale blue outer area has delicate blue flowers at three points of the design and the light yellow area has yellow flowers in three areas of the design as well. This beautifully executed enamel work shows many factors of guilloche enamel work. Deeply embossed metal in a gorgeous design is seen all around the outer area of the compact. Inner compartments as shown also include an adorable tiny flip up lipstick holder. Every detail here makes it perfect for collectors of vintage vanity and perfume items.

The time period of manufacture is pre-1930 with the patent date Feb 9 1926 stamped inside. This compact wristlet would make a wonderful addition to any collection or a unique accessory for a special occasion, photo op, or to simply display
This item is in very good and excellent vintage condition. The enamel work is the excellent part with no damage at all. Keeping the compact from not being entirely in excellent condition is as follows:
The back has 3 small dents and very faint scratches.
The chain handle has faux pearl beads and the pearl coating has worn off almost entirely.
It had a mirror on the inside at some point in time, however the mirror is missing. That inside area where the mirror was is the bluish color enamel you see in the photo. It is quite pretty actually.
Some fading/wear to the silver metal finish is seen at the very narrow hinged /opening area
