Fabulous Antique Victorian Ornate Purple Czech / Hungarian Glass Sash Pin Brooch.
The pin has an ornate 3 dimensional design with a solid, lightly embossed, brass bottom decorated with four, large, ornate, top metal pieces. These are gorgeous featuring open work metal in a gothic Bohemian Victorian design. These 4 pieces actually are securing the large purple stone which is tucked in below their top edges. The glass stone is faceted and is quite large and quite striking, capturing the light with every movement and is beautifully complemented by the rich warmth of the hammered brass. It is in excellent antique condition as well with no chips or nicks. Quite large in size it measures approximately 1~1/8" round in diameter. The metal has a warm patina now and the wide C Clasp closure dates it to the late 1800's.
The pin back or stem is slightly bent but no problems otherwise.
A heavy substantial piece
The pin measures 2.5" square with each corner tip featuring a small fold adding even more interest to the design.
