Ready for spring this is the prettiest pink glass and plastic beads necklace ever. From the 1950's, signed made in Western Germany, the construction here is amazing!
Starting with 3 connectors / strands at the clasp, the inner two then branch into 2 strands. The outer, longest strand stays at one, altogether making a total of 5 strands. A wonderful necklace to use as a pattern if you like designing your own jewelry.
Then there are the beads. Making this a truly quality necklace is the use of several shapes, colors, and sizes of beads which include:
Glass flower shaped beads in graduating sizes with shades of light pink to white in each one.
The most delicate ruffled, plastic, petal shaped beads in 2 shades of pink as well as transparent and semi transparent plastic.
Just as delicate are the plastic, satiny clear, transparent beads, which are super slender and elongated
Then there's the clasp. A beautifully designed blossom which consists of hand wired, glass flower beads. It is attached / wired onto the top of the box style push lock clasp.
The whole piece is truly a masterpiece in design and construction.
In excellent vintage condition it measures 16" long at top strand.
The necklace must of been kept safely in a jewelry box or drawer for decades. Looks new! Perhaps it was a treasured gift from a sweetheart, cherished for years. Who knows? I love to think about the history and to whom a necklace like this may have belonged to, lol!
Looks gorgeous on!
