Started by two brothers in 1865, W & SB stood for W & S Blackinton Company. They originally manufactured gold jewelry in Meriden, CT, but after a fire the company moved to Providence, RI. They incorporated in 1901, moving the business yet again to Attleboro, MA.
Later history states the company was purchased by the Ellmore Silver Co. which in the 1930's began manufacturing a line of silver-plated hollowware. The trademark on their silver changed to the full name “W & S Blackinton” without a star.
Beautiful condition for its' age. Locket snaps closed tightly and all stones are present. The smaller ones have darkened, larger ones are still sparkling. If you look at them through a loupe you will see that the facet work on them is simple, very much like old mine cut diamonds. A few of them look as if an outer edge has a thin slice off. On one of them I believe it to be damage, however, on others it just looks as if that was how they were cut. Very minor scratches and tiny dents are seen only on the inner rim where the photo is. Outer area, front and back, is truly lovely with no visible issues
Measures 2" round in diameter, neck chain measures 26" long
