Product Description

1920's Estate Necklace, 14k Rose Gold Egyptian as well as Etruscan Revival Lavalier.

"To understand the appeal of Etruscan Revival jewelry, you have to understand the appeal of the original Etruscan jewelry unearthed in tombs just outside Rome in the early 1800s. Intricately wrought golden earrings and necklaces were meticulously ornamented with tiny gold beads and twisted wires densely applied to the surface. Nobody had seen gold worked like that since the mysterious Etruscans had carefully buried the treasures with their dead. The science of archeology was just beginning to fire the imagination of the world and discoveries were gleefully copied. By the middle of the century Egyptian and Renaissance revival jewelry was joined by the classical Greek and Etruscan styles." Source - Jewelry History: The Etruscan Revival Jewelry

This Fabulous piece features Etruscan gold work in the use of filigree through finely twisted wires applied to the surface of the jewelry.

Gorgeous featured stones are three, huge, lab created, Alexandrite Gemstones, and three smaller (approx. 3 carats each) Alexandrite gemstones.

Other Design Elements - Lotus Flowers Links, Egyptian Queen center Link, Hand Made Neck Chain Links, and Unique Round, Locking Clasp.

Stunning Alexandrite gemstones seen here are spectacular! Six breathtakingly beautiful round, faceted, gemstones show amazing dual color change as you move them from warm to cool light. But even in natural room light you see flashes of the fuchsia color throughout the cool blue/purple color.  I have not seen this as intensely in other lab Alexandrite stones  I have sold before. It was difficult to capture the colors of these stones. The best representation is seen in the photo above which is a smaller pic of the same image you see in the large photo showing the necklace with a quarter in the slide show images up top. Photos are enlarged so please take note the measurements provided!

The smaller links represent the Lotus Flower, the center link is an Egyptian Queen. The larger links with the stones feature rows of "twist" design gold beading which resemble tiny beads of Etruscan granulation work, and equally tiny links which make a miniature chain, all of which wind around below the top stone. Add in the triangular shaped gold leaves and beautiful prongs which secure the stones and you have a gorgeous, elegant, 3 dimensional, intricately designed necklace.

Large stones measure approx. 14mm round x 6.6mm deep (at the bottom point). The total measurement of the stones in their gold settings measure 21mm round in diameter Smaller stones measure 8.7mm. I was not able to measure the depth accurately as the bottom point was too high up into the gold setting. However the estimated carat weight on each of those is approx. 3 carats

Approx. Carat weight is 8.7 each per large stone, Approx. TCW - 35, Weight - 35.6 grams

Stones are excellent with no damage that I can see. The gold settings are beautiful with the larger components in excellent vintage condition. Four of the slender links in the neck chain show very slight dents. These are the ones which are hallmarked, the links that are connected to the lotus flowers at the main design area and the two at the end which are connected to the clasp. This is seen only under magnification, not noticeable otherwise.

Neck length measures 19" long,  center drop length measures 2~3/4" long,
